Hello everyone,
I hope you all had and continue to have as good a time as possible, as safe a time as possible, this holiday season. As far as progress on the next book, I was able to finish the rest of chapter eight, all of chapter nine, and I am about a quarter of the way through chapter ten. I’ve had to do a few tweaks, thankfully quite easy when one can go directly to a section without too much searching. I also added a couple of sections to flesh out plot and character details, and, as has been the case so far, I had to come up with a few side character names and veer details and names as needed. I also fixed a little issue having to do with time passage. The scene in question had been bugging me for a while, but I finally understood what exactly had been bugging me about it and fixed it. As is my process, once I finish this first pass of chapter ten, I’ll be doing a read-through from the start to see where things could be made better, to find things that have changed and to make tweaks accordingly.
This end of year feels different–a bit darker, less cheerful–but with what’s going on in the world, I suppose it shouldn’t be surprising. Still, I try to keep my chin up and so should you. We’ve got a new year coming, which means new possibilities. I’m wishing for a happy new year, and I hope for the same for you and yours.
